Updates from LEAP MDUSD Essential Supply Drive

June, 2021
My name is Seena Farhadi, I am a junior at Northgate High School in Walnut Creek, California and the founder of the Learning Enrichment and Assistance Program (LEAP). LEAP was created to address the vast educational inequity present in Contra Costa County by offering tutoring and enrichment for homeless and foster youth students in the East Bay Area. In less than 4 months, LEAP has paired up around 40 volunteer high school tutors with different homeless and foster youth students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades! This summer, with the support of Riley’s Way, LEAP is planning on hosting a backpack supply drive for the over 700 homeless and foster youth students in the Mount Diablo Unified School District. I am looking forward to meeting other Riley’s Way Fellows from across the nation and supporting each other's projects!
