Our main goal through NEST Nurtures is to increase awareness and action around food waste reduction and rescue and redistribute safe edible food to those in need. We utilize a dual approach that addresses food insecurity and waste management by increasing the scope of community food recovery initiatives.

NEST4US (www.nest4us.org) is a 501©3 nonprofit dedicated to providing volunteer solutions to the community in order to make the world better through kindness. We tackle food insecurity, lack of volunteering with a passion, diversity & inclusion, and a plethora of other societal issues through our five core programs: NEST Nurtures, our food-redistribution program, NEST Tutors and NEST Inspires, our global tutoring,
mentoring, and leadership programs, NEST Kares, our kindness program, and NEST Buddies, our birthday-in-a-box program. By collaborating with corporate businesses, schools, nonprofits, homeless shelters/food banks, and community organizations across the globe, we’ve impacted thousands worldwide! Now, five years later, our volunteer family has grown to over 1500 of all ages and backgrounds who have contributed $900,000+ in value of volunteer hours!

The mission of NEST Nurtures is to stop food waste and feed the hungry! The main goal is to increase awareness and action around food waste reduction, and rescue & redistribute safe edible foods to those in need. We utilize a dual approach that addresses food insecurity and waste management by increasing the scope of community food recovery initiatives. By organizing hunger-related service opportunities, hosting sustainability workshops, & advocating for zero waste through awareness campaigns, we advance food waste prevention efforts & engage the public to drive collaborative action.

It’s a great honor to be a winner of the 2021 Call for Kindness and we’re super excited to join the Riley’s Way Foundation family. The grant from the Rileys Way Foundation will help us alleviate hunger among members of the homeless community, low-income families, and underprivileged children. In addition, it would help us expand our food recovery programs and hunger-related service projects and continue providing critical aid to more communities impacted by the global pandemic.

Our world is better when kindness becomes a lifestyle rather than a one-time action. There are so many acts of kindness people can do every day that can make a difference regardless of how big or small the action is. This ripple effect is actually the best part about kindness. Our overall vision at NEST4US is to empower people of all ages and backgrounds to create a more compassionate and inclusive world by instilling a passion for service through random acts of kindness.
