T.R.A.N.S - Togetherness + Really Awesome Non-Normative Support is a virtual support group with a special focus on Trans and Nonbinary people in STEMM, although any Trans or Nonbinary person is welcome. We aim to decrease isolation and better the mental health of the Trans/Nonbinary community.

July, 2022
Hi everyone! I'm Grayson, I'm 22, and I use they/them pronouns. I am a student at the University of Arizona in my last year of my Psychology undergraduate degree. As a Psychology student, I am incredibly passionate about mental health and as a queer person, I wanted to find a way to help out as many members of my community as possible. That led me to THRIVE Lifeline in January of this year, a Crisis Line that provides support to people experiencing acute mental health crises, especially those in marginalized communities. Through my training as a Crisis Responder, with the support of my mentor and the President of the organization, I knew that I wanted to find even more ways to provide mental health support to queer people and the idea for TRANS was born.

TRANS - Togetherness + Really Awesome Non-Normative Support is a free, virtual Support group that specializes in helping people in STEMM who are Two-Spirit, Transgender, Agender, Genderqueer, Gender Nonconforming, Genderfluid, Nonbinary, Questioning, or otherwise exist outside of the gender binary or are a person of Trans experience. However, we do not require that our members have an affiliation with any STEMM discipline, so that way we can build community and help even more people. Our maximum capacity for each group is 100 people and we are currently advertising and getting people to sign up for the first meeting, as well as creating the free gift for our attendees! Our first meeting will be August 6th at 7pm EST and we are so exciting to begin building this community! Anyone who is interested can sign up at thriv.life/trans

I am also incredibly excited to be a part of the community of Riley's Way Call for Kindness Fellows. Everyone has already been so incredibly welcoming, supportive, and helpful as we start to get our project up and running and I can't wait to get to know everyone more as this year progresses! I am also looking forward to learning so many things from the Workshops this year, as so much of this is new to me and I want to make the project the best that it can be! I can't wait to make a difference in the world alongside all of the other amazing Fellows this year!
